Preston North End's ten-day pre-season tour of USA was arranged in association with PSC and included three tough friendly games – two against US opposition and one game against a top Mexican side.

The team were predominantly based in Portland, but also included short stays in Seattle and Sacramento.

Along with the games and daily training sessions, PSC also arranged a trip to watch Portland Beavers baseball team, a golf-day at Pumpkin Ridge golf club and a trip to the Nike HQ and employees discount store in Portland for the team.
