Northern Ireland international Ryan McGivern has signed a two-year deal at Port Vale.

The former Manchester City defender has spent the last two years in Scotland with Hibernian, but made the decision to head back south of the border after Hibs' surprise relegation from the SPL last season.

The 6ft 2in Ulsterman came through the youth system at City before gaining experience with a series of loan deals Leicester City, Walsall, Crystal Palace and Bristol City.
