Matty Fryatt has today signed a 3.5 year contract with Championship side Leicester City after the Foxes agreed an undisclosed fee with Walsall.

The 19 year old striker is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in the English leagues and is looking forward to pitting his wits against Championship defences.

"It goes without saying that this is a fantastic move for me and I can't wait to join up with the lads in my first training session tomorrow", said Fryatt.

"Matty has had two good season's playing for Walsall in League 1 and a good club in the Championship was the next progression. I'm sure he will be a great success at Leicester" said the player's agent Mark Taylor.

Matty Fryatt signs contract extension with Walsall...

England U19 hotshot Matty Fryatt has signed a 12-month contract extension with Walsall FC.

Fryatt, who has been linked with numerous Premier League and Championship clubs this summer, said, "We've been in talks over a new contract for a while now and I'm glad that everything has now been agreed and signed."

"Walsall FC have been good to me over the years and I hope that I can continue to play well and score goals for them."

"As is the case with any ambitious player; I want to play at the highest possible level as soon as I can, and the club have assured me that they will not stand in my way should the right offer from the right club come in."

The player's agent Mark Taylor added, "Matty is pleased to sign on improved terms and Walsall are obviously delighted that he has signed an extension to his current contract."

"There has been a lot of speculation regarding Matt after his performances for Walsall and England over the past 18 months, where he has arguably been one of the country's most exiting prospects," added Taylor. "He has scored 21 goals in 32 league starts for Walsall and scored 4 goals in 4 games for England U19s this summer, which is a very impressive record!"

"This contract shows his commitment to carry on scoring goals for Walsall over the coming months, but at the same time, there is an agreement that the club will not stand in his way to progress his career should the right club come in for him."

FRYATT FIRES ENGLAND INTO FINAL

Teenage hotshot Matty Fryatt fired England into the Final of the U19 European Championships with a hat-trick against Serbia & Montenegro.

Fryatt scored in the 18th and 81st minutes before sealing England's victory with his third goal in injury time. He now is the competition's top scorer with 4 goals in 4 games.

Teenage hotshot Matty Fryatt made his International U19 debut for England against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Thursday 9th September 2004. He impressed as a half-time substitute and even set up the second goal in England's 2-0 victory.

Fryatt has been in red hot form domestically leading League One's goalscoring charts with five goals in five starts for Walsall.
